R3VTech Ltd. is a cutting-edge spinout born from innovative research at Loughborough University, UK. Our mission is to create new revenue streams for industry via circular economy approaches by:
Reducing carbon dioxide emissions
Reusing resources and materials and thus
Revaluing by-product/waste streams
About
In our initial phase, utlising electrochemistry, we convert low-valued crude glycerol into solketal, a high-value, eco-friendly bio-derived chemical with diverse industrial applications.

As pioneers in sustainable chemistry, we combine academic excellence with entrepreneurial drive to address global challenges. Our patented electrochemical technology offers an efficient, scalable, and green solution for crude glycerol, paving the way for cleaner and more sustainable industrial practices. We offer a cost-effective approach based at the process plants of individual biodiesel producers, using mild conditions at lower break-even volumes than traditional production methods. Moreover, our electrochemical process utilises waste carbon dioxide, allowing greater circularity and generating a new revenue stream to biodiesel producers.
Our commitment
- Innovating with Purpose: Transforming waste streams through novel low energy technologies to support the fuel additive, solvent, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Advancing Sustainability: Reducing industrial waste and promoting the circular economy.
- Delivering Excellence: Providing cutting-edge solutions rooted in rigorous academic research and powered by real-world innovation.
We are more than a company; we are a bridge between groundbreaking science/engineering and transformative industry solutions, striving to make sustainability a cornerstone of modern chemical production.

Corentin Fagnan
Process Chemist
Bio: Corentin graduated from the University of Paris-Sorbonne in France with a BSc in Organic chemistry (2016) and an MSc in Organic Chemistry (2018). His PhD was completed under the guidance of Prof. Kevin Lam, focused on the medicinal electrosynthesis of organometallic anticancer drugs. He further sharpened his expertise in electrochemistry and flow chemistry at the Loughborough University, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Benjamin Buckley. He is a process chemist in the spin-out company R3V tech with Adriano Randi, developing new electrochemical methods for valorising chemical products. He aims to explore and optimise new non-conventional methods in synthetic organic chemistry accessing otherwise difficult-to-achieve reactions.

Lokesh Rao
Process Chemist
Bio: Lokesh completed his MChem in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2021 at Loughborough University. His PhD, under the supervision of Prof. Benjamin Buckley, is focused on batch and flow electrochemical organic synthesis utilising carbon dioxide, sponsored by Lubrizol. He is a process chemist at R3V Tech, working on scaling up the reactions using flow electrochemistry.
Our vision
At R3VTech, we envision a future where waste is transformed into opportunity, and sustainability drives industrial progress. By reimagining the potential of glycerol, a by-product of biodiesel production, we aim to create high-value solutions that empower industries to thrive while protecting the planet. Through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to environmental stewardship, we strive to lead the way in turning challenges into meaningful change, fostering a greener and more sustainable world for generations to come.
